I am currently undertaking research interviews with artists who have been recognised or nominated by an organisation that promotes the genre. As an artist, you will be asked to join me on a recorded zoom meeting to discuss your artwork and practice. I am interested in finding out about your influences, inspirations, and reflections. These interviews will be semi-structured and last about an hour.
To participate as an artist, you will need access to a computer (or, perhaps, a smartphone or tablet) with audio and camera features. Also, you will need to be comfortable with using the equipment as the e-interview will be hosted online. Additionally, it will be the participant’s choice whether their name and identifying characteristics are stored and used in the research project. The alternative is that the file is kept confidential, and pseudonyms will be used and noted as such. Preference is recorded on consent forms.
There will be no direct or financial benefit for taking part in this study. However, there are indirect benefits, such as (1) possible promotion of your artistic practice (depending on your preference for confidentiality) and (2) contributing new knowledge to the field of art criticism and analytical psychology.
